Not so many years ago
notice from Issue No. 49/2007 for Sunday 16th December
The ‘Our Sick’ list rarely took up more than four or five lines in the Newsletter, even though the print was this size! More than half the names in the current list are rather of long term disabled or housebound parishioners or their families, than those who are actually acutely sick. From the start of the New Year, therefore I will be publishing the list in two parts.
Every week will appear, as now, the names of the dying, the acutely sick, those about to have operations or are in the acute stage of recovering from them, as well as those undergoing serious outpatient treatment (for example, for chemotherapy) at hospitals.
Once a month (usually in the Newsletter dated for the first Sunday of the month, unless other more urgent news postpones it) will appear the longer list of those, as mentioned above, in the later stages of recovery or whose need for our prayers stems from long term disability of inability to leave their homes. I would be grateful if friends or relations of these would keep me informed of their progress.
