What’s it like to be a Chorister?
Find out for yourself at : Chorister for a day, On Saturday 2nd February 2008
“Chorister for a Day” offers boys and their families the chance to explore the full life of a Westminster Cathedral chorister, before making any formal application.
- Is your son lively, cheerful, robust and musical?
- Is he aged 8 or under?
- Is he interested in joining one of the world’s leading choirs?
Why not bring him along?

Six Hints For Your Christmas Dinner
Tomatoes and oregano make it Italian; wine and tarragon make it French; sour cream makes it Russian; lemon and cinnamon make it Greek; soy sauce makes it Chinese. And garlic makes it Good.

Not so many years ago
The ‘Our Sick’ list rarely took up more than four or five lines in the Newsletter, even though the print was this size! More than half the names in the current list are rather of long term disabled or housebound parishioners or their families, than those who are actually acutely sick. From the start of the New Year, therefore I will be publishing the list in two parts.
Every week will appear, as now, the names of the dying, the acutely sick, those about to have operations or are in the acute stage of recovering from them, as well as those undergoing serious outpatient treatment (for example, for chemotherapy) at hospitals
Last Sunday
I blame the appalling weather recently for last Sunday’s low attendance of 285. The Offertory came to £475.19 [£407.71 the same Sunday last year] and £649 (exactly) in response to Father Kevin Ryan’s appeal on behalf of the Xaverian Missionaries. Many thanks to you all for your generosity.
The previous Sunday’s Offertory, omitted in last week’s Newsletter, came to £511
