Shadows

As I walk through the night
through the dark, gloomy shadows,
You comfort me O Lord.
With the evil outside and the goodness inside,
thinking of you, your light, comforts me Lord.
Your light so pure and beautiful,
surrounds me when the shadows are near.

Composed by Robert Wright before his Confirmation in 1996

Lift the Lid on Lousy Loans

Two years ago, the Make Poverty History Campaign highlighted the need for the poorest countries to be relieved of their burder of debt before they could begin to make economic progress. A number of countries have benefited from debt cancellation and are now able to provide basic health care and education for their people.

But there is still much more that could be done. Many of the debts which cripple the economies of poor countries are the result of irresponsible lending by international banks, often for projects which did not benefit the people who now struggle to repay even the interest on the loans

A Story for Our Times

When I was a kid I got lost on the beach once, and a cop helped me look for my parents. 'Do you think we'll find them?' I ask him. 'i don't know, kid' he replied. 'There are so many places they can hide.'
