Saints
Did you know that there is a proper word to descibe the study of saints and holy people? It is hagiology.
Nearly every job or profession has its own patron saint - even television! St Claire (who lived way before television was imagined: she was born in 1194 and died in 1253) is the patron saint of television. Why? Because at Christmas 1252 she was too ill to go to the church service which was several miles away, yet she had a vision which was so clear that she could describe the whole service in detail
Sacrament Of Reconciliation 2005
As you may already know, for many years we have held a special course in Saint Margaret's Parish for nine year-olds on the Sacrament of Reconciliation or - as it is usual called - Confession.
These days many children "miss the net". Though the usual practice is for children to receive Reconciliation some little time before Holy Communion, not all actually do so. But more important still, I have become convinced that, at the age of sevem, children understand very little about Reconciliation

Pat Blake writes
On behalf of myself and my family, we have been utterly overwhelmed by the love and support received from so many people of the parish during the last few traumatic weeks. Our family would sincerely like to thank everyone for their prayers, Masses, cards, phone calls, letters and flowers. Thank you to all who attended Mum's funeral Mass, and sang! I, particularly, have been deeply comforted
Last Sunday
The attendance was 322 and the Offertory came to £434.74, compared with £658.67 on the same Sunday last year. You also gave £242.42 in the Collection for the Apostleship of the Sea [last year £288.45]. Many thanks.
