A Springtime Frission For Mothering Sunday

On Mothering Sunday morning, my 9 and 13 year old sons burst into my bedroom with a tray laden with a breakfast they themselves had prepared. A pile of toast, a huge mass of scrambled eggs, crumpets and a large glass of fruit juice, as well as a soft drink. A plate of fudge for dessert was the high-light. As they ran back and forth to the kitchen to fetch jam, butter, syrup and other condiments, I secretly vowed that, although it was far more food than I would usual have, I would, nevertheless, eat every scrap so as not to disappoing them or hurt their feelings

Sutton Deanery Pastoral Council

Annual Day of Recollection and Prayer for all Ministers Celebrating Ministry for the Community. Takes place on Saturday the 31st of March from 10:30am to 4:00pm at St Matthais Parish Centre, 201 Cheam Common Road, Worcester Park. It will be led by Fr David O’Connel of London University’s Chaplaincy.

  1. Do you play a part in the life of your parish?
  2. Are you a Minister of the Eucharist?
  3. Do you welcome people to the church before Mass?
  4. Do you help to make the Church a holy environment, well cared for, clean , and respectfully decorated in praise of The Lord?
  5. Do you teach children the Word of God, in preparation for the First Holy Communion or Confirmation?

All these activities, and many more, are Ministries within the Church, bringing us together as God’s family

Towards a Vision for the Diocese

Part III: Facing the Future / Possibilities For Pastoral Provision Parish Consultation 26th March 2007 : Questions for Discussion

  1. What are the resources [strengths and gifts] in our parish?
  2. How would we respond to a situation in which our parish, or a neighbouring parish, had no resident priest? What forms of a collaboration and coordination could develop?
  3. Are there any special areas of pastoral provision in this deanery that need to be taken into account for the future? [eg Hospitals? Schools? Prisons? Future housing developments?]
  4. Are there any particular changes in pastoral provision that we can recommend for our deanery?

Congratulations to

Duncan Hokyue Wong of the Highway, who was baptized a brother of Jesus Christ in Saint Margaret’s on Sunday 4th February. Congratulations also to his parents and godparents.

Friends of the Royal Marsden

The friends of the Royal Marsden provide a range of voluntary services in the hospital and raise valuable funds to purchase equipment and provide amenities to benefit patients, visitors and staff.

Many patients attend for treatment daily for 5/7 weeks and the Conservatory Tea Bar, which is situated in the busy Outpatients, provides very reasonably priced drinks, sandwiches and cakes.

Why not come and join their very friendly team, making sandwhiches and serving customers who really appreciate the services
